Into The Fog – Groove In The Gorge Music Series
July 22nd 2023 - An evening of Into the Fog, food trucks, massage therapy, and art vendors!
Fayetteville, WV — Winners of the 2021 MerleFest Band Competition, Into the Fog is a genre-jumping string band based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. With its members having various backgrounds ranging from bluegrass, country, rock, to funk, Into the Fog creates a musical melting pot of sounds in an acoustic/newgrass setting.
Into The Fog is a four-piece band that brings together diverse musical backgrounds to create a unique blend of bluegrass and jam music. Brian Stephenson, a folk/country singer-songwriter from Wake Forest, North Carolina, is the band's guitarist and banjo player. Winston Mitchell, the band's mandolin and dobro player, started his musical journey playing guitar with his father, who introduced him to country, folk, and rock ‘n’ roll. Derek Lane, the band's drummer, bassist, and guitarist, has a funk background and a deep appreciation for bluegrass. Finally, Connor Kozlosky, the band's singer, songwriter, and guitar player, was inspired by 90s alternative, classic rock, and bluegrass before discovering his passion for the improvisational nature of jam music. Together, Into The Fog creates a sound that is both traditional and innovative, and their performances are a testament to their dedication to their craft.
The Outpost is a place to bring people together who love the outdoors, music and food nestled in the heartbeat of the New River Gorge. The Outpost offers a variety of lodging accommodations including primitive tent camping, tent platforms, cabins, vintage RV rental and both small and large RV sites. Food trucks, vendors, massage therapy services and premium amenities help create the communal family vibe that is being talked about everywhere.
