At The Outpost, every guest reservation is important. We look forward to hosting your outdoor experience and want your getaway to be as relaxing as possible.
Please read the following rules and regulations thoroughly to ensure you have all the information you need for a smooth, relaxing, enjoyable stay.
Cancellation Policy
In the unlikely event that you must cancel or transfer dates, please see the applicable policy below and then call 304.860.9121 to initiate the cancellation. Our cancellation policy varies depending on the timing of your cancellation notice in advance of the arrival date. Number of days for below purpose is counted with the arrival date being day “0” and the day prior starting day “1”. All cancellations must be completed within office hours. Any communications left after hours will be accounted to the following day. Immediately upon cancellations, dates open on schedule for new booking availability.
10+ Days Prior to Arrival Date
Cancellation: Refunds will be issued immediately less a $20.00 non-refundable transaction fee. Reschedule: If you would like to transfer your reservation to another date, you can do so one time free of charge to a date within 120 days. We reserve the right to charge $20.00 non-refundable transaction fee after the (1st ) reservation change if requested again within 10+ Days.
9 to 3 Days Prior to Arrival Date
Cancellation: You will be issued a “camp credit” for a stay at another time (to be used within one year of cancellation date) less a fee equal to 25% of your total reservation. Reschedule: If you would like to transfer your reservation to another date within 120 days, you can do so (1) time for a $20.00 non-refundable transaction fee.
2 to 1 Days Prior to Arrival Date
Cancellation: You will forfeit 2 (two) nights stay and the remaining will be issued as “camp credit” for a stay at another time (to be used within one year of cancellation date) Reschedule: Not allowed
Arrival Date to 11am next day
Cancellation: You will forfeit 4 (four) nights stay and the remaining will be issued as “camp credit” for a stay at another time (to be used within one year of cancellation date) Reschedule: Not allowed
NOTE: All holidays (Labor Day & Memorial Day (Fri – Mon), July 4th days (6/30-7/4) and Bridge Day Weekend (Thur - Sun) and special events (all music or festival event weekends besides “Fire Side Jams”) are non-refundable (no credits or reschedule) with less than a 14 (fourteen) day notice of cancellation.
No Show Policy:
Reservations will be held until check-out time on the day following your scheduled arrival date of which they will be then considered a “No Show” Reservation. No shows will result in full forfeiture of all funds (full reservation) and the site(s) will open immediately for future reservations by others.
REFUND POLICY:
Refunds are prohibited for weather conditions, voluntary departure, acts of nature, or evictions. Any refund processed will be refunded in the same form that it was originally paid or an Outpost reservation credit can be issued towards a future stay to be used to be used within one year of cancellation date reservation credit was issued. An Outpost Credit can only be redeemed within one year of cancellation date and can only be applied toward your site or cabin/lodge rental. All refunds processed via credit/debit card will be processed back to the original credit/debit card used, no exceptions.
Please understand that we cannot be held responsible for weather, illness, work schedules, or other situations outside of our control and therefore, we enforce our cancellation policy regardless of circumstances. For these reasons we strongly recommend travelers insurance. Arrival/Departure Information
Check-in: 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (Sun - Wed) / 2:00PM - 7:00PM (Thurs) / 2:00PM - 8:00PM (Fri & Sat)
Winter Hours (11/27/23 to 3/18/24): 2:00PM – 5:00PM (Sun – Thurs) / 2:00PM – 6:00PM (Fri & Sat)
If arriving outside of check-in times, we will have a site map on the office door showing your location and how to get there. This map will also have the Wi-Fi, bathroom, and (when applicable) Cabin Code. The registered guest responsible for the site must be at least 18 years of age and provide a valid government issued photo ID at time of check-in. That person must remain on site for the duration of the reservation.
Check-out: 11:00 AM
To make sure we can prepare for and honor incoming guests, late check-outs will be charged $5 per hour up until 2:00 PM when a full additional night will be charged. Late check-out must be approved prior by office and is not guaranteed.
Lodging check-out procedures:
Pick up all trash and items (inside and outside). Place trash in one of the trash cans around campground.
Sweep floors, empty fridge.
Return all (inside and outside) chairs back to general area.
Beds stripped of bedding & towels stacked in pile on floor.
If no dishwasher, all dishes washed and in drying rack. If unit has a dishwasher, place in dishwasher and run it.
Fans Off, Lights Off
Temperature set to 72 degrees (if unit has A/C).
NO TRASH ALLOWED IN FIRE PITS. Fire pits must be free of trash.
Please make sure you remove your items and trash from tables after each use to keep animals away and to keep our park clean.
Quiet Hours:
10:00 PM – 7:00 AM Sunday – Thursday 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM Friday – Saturday (Memorial Day Sunday, Labor Day Sunday and 4th of July if on Sunday or Monday) Quiet hours extended for all GITG music events, please check event page.
Generators, diesel engines, and bright exterior lighting may not operate during quiet hours. No loud music, excessive noise, or disorderly conduct will be tolerated. If you are disrespectful to other guests and do not follow quite hour rules and times, The Outpost Management has the right to have you leave the property and no refund will be issued. Further, if you or your guests’ actions cause other guests to leave, you will be charged for their visit also. No visitors during quiet hours.
VISITORS
Visitors must register at the Campground Office during office hours. The Outpost staff reserve the right to limit additional vehicles. Visitors must follow all Outpost Rules & Regulations while on site and registered guests are responsible for the behavior of visitors. No visitors during quiet hours.
Facility Use Information
ACCESSIBILITY
We have an ADA accessible bathroom on site. Please call for additional information or with special requests.
RESTROOMS
Restroom and shower facilities are available on site. Due to Board of Health Regulations, animals are prohibited in the restrooms. A sink for washing dishes is available outside the Restroom.
OUTDOOR SHOWERS
Available for use outside of quiet hours (reference Quiet Hours above). Please remove all items when finished (shampoo, soap, etc.) and keep them nice for other guests.
DAMAGE/LOSS
Registered guests will be liable for the full cost of any damage caused by the guest (or their visitors) to the property or facilities. Guests will also be charged for any items missing from rental units after checkout.
GARBAGE
Help us keep our property clean and practice Leave No Trace principles by depositing all garbage in the trash bins located throughout the property. Please do not burn trash, and please do not leave trash unattended outside on sites. DO NOT PUT ANY TRASH IN FIREPITS OR LEAVE SITES LITTERED WITH TRASH - THE OUTPOST HAS A RIGHT TO CHARGE $100.00 IF FOUND.
LODGE
Lodge is available for use by all guests outside of quiet hours (reference Quiet Hours above). The lodge is a communal space where all guests can come to relax, eat food, play games, or watch tv. NO COOKING, SLEEPING OR ENTERING “EMPLOYEE ONLY” DESIGNATED AREAS ALLOWED. THE FIREPLACE IS ONLY TO BE RUN BY OUTPOST EMPLOYEES. THE OUTPOST HAS A RIGHT TO CHARGE $100.00 OR BAN GUESTS IF ABOVE IS NOT FOLLOWED.
LAUNDRY
Laundry facilities are available at the bathhouse. The units are quarter operated and the office can help make change for their use.
PARKING
Limit of 2 (two) vehicles per individual lodging accommodation (RVs may have one towed vehicle or one towing vehicle and an additional car). Parking adjacent to lodgings is not guaranteed and often unattainable. Vehicles must display the provided parking tag. Vehicles without proper tags are subject to towing at owner’s expense. Vehicles must not block roads and must be in designated parking areas. The speed limit is 4.5 MPH.
You have to walk into all of our cabins, tent platforms, tent sites and field tent camping. You can park close but not directly beside your lodging.
ELECTRIC VEHICLE (EV) CHARGING
No charging of EV’S is allowed at any site unless it is the only vehicle registered / camping in an “RV” labeled site. If an additional vehicle at an “RV” site or vehicle at any other site needs to charge, there will be a fee and it must be approved by The Outpost prior to charging. At NO time can a vehicle charge from an electrical outlet not at a site unless they have written Outpost approval and have been charged accordingly. Anyone caught charging a vehicle that is not approved WILL BE charged $45.00 for each occurrence.
PHOTOGRAPHY
The Outpost uses on-site candid photography for advertisements and promotions. Entrance onto this property constitutes permission to be photographed while on the premises and for any resulting photos to be used by The Outpost for lawful purposes without compensation or notification to the guest.
TENTS ON SITES
Tent Platforms and Tent Sites may have up to two (2) tents per site. Pavilion 1 may have up to 10 tents. Tents are not allowed at RV Sites, Cabins or Vintage Campers.
TREES
Trees and the shade they provide are an integral part of an enjoyable camping experience. However, even healthy and well-maintained, trees pose a natural hazard of falling debris, such as leaves and branches, especially during windy and/or extreme weather conditions. We do not assume responsibility for these natural hazards or for any property damage, injury, or other circumstances that may result. Please take this into consideration when parking at The Outpost and while enjoying the property.
Safety
AFTER-HOURS ASSISTANCE
For Emergencies, call 911. For urgent, immediate needs (plumbing issues, dangerous situations, unit access problems, quiet hour issues, etc.) between 6:00 PM and 9:00 AM, call 304-590-8209 (call multiple times and leave VM on first call)
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
All state/federal laws apply. Alcoholic beverage consumption is restricted to those 21 or older, no open containers! Excessively loud, combative, belligerent, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated at any time. Drink responsibly.
CAMPFIRES
Controlled campfires are permitted in designated fire pits ONLY. Fires must be supervised while burning and then fully extinguished. Only firewood (purchased on site) and charcoal should be burned. Please DO NOT CUT LIVE TREES for firewood or burn trash. Fire pits may not be relocated. If fire pits are moved or we find trash, we deserve the right to charge up to a $150.00 fee automatically to your card on file (sorry, we didn’t think we would have to do this but we’ve learned not everyone comes with good manners).
Our communal fire pit is for all to enjoy. No Field Tent Camping is allowed within 25 feet of the communal fire pit.
CHILDREN
Children are welcome at The Outpost! Children under 8 (eight) should be directly supervised by an adult at all times. Parents/guardians are responsible for their children’s safety and behavior.
CONSTRUCTION/MAINTENANCE
The Outpost closes certain sites and areas of the property for landscaping and maintenance throughout the season. For your safety, please respect all areas blocked off with cones, caution tape, or other restricted access markings.
DRONES
Commercial drones & Personal drones are prohibited.
FIREWORKS
Fireworks are prohibited on the The Outpost property.
GRILLS
Propane grills are provided at the pavilion. Please scrape and keep clean for others to use. Fire cooking is permitted in provided fire pits. Personal charcoal and propane grills are permitted. Please use responsibly.
MOTORIZED TRANSPORTATION
Scooters, dirt bikes, and hover boards are not permitted on the property. Electric golf carts are permitted for the elderly or those with limited mobility with advance request. Golf carts must be driven by licensed drivers. Bicycles and scooters are welcome. Please ride at safe speeds and during daylight hours. Helmets are recommended.
PETS
Rentals: Well-behaved, vaccinated dogs are welcome in our Dog Friendly Lodging Units (2 Dogs Maximum). We do not allow any other type of pets including cats in our Lodging Units. In dog-friendly Lodging units, there is a $15 per night non-refundable fee with a 2-dog maximum. Dogs are NOT allowed to be left in cabins unless the owners are present. If this is not followed, you can be asked to leave with no refund. For Lodging Units allowing dogs, there is a limit of two (2) dogs per site. The Outpost reserves the right to charge any customer $250.00 cleaning fee for any pet kept in a non-pet rental unit. Pet approved units are marked clearly on our booking site in notes and with a Paw symbol.
Rentals & all other sites: Lodging Units allowing dogs and all other sites allowing pets, there is a limit of two (2) dogs / pets per site. Dogs / pets are NOT allowed to be left in cabins or tied up to campsites unless the owners are present. They can be left in personal RV’s however with the owner taking all responsibility. If this is not followed, you can be asked to leave with no refund. Dogs are allowed at Pavilion 1, tent sites and RV Sites with no fee, but all campground pet rules and regulations still apply. Service dogs are complimentary. All dogs / pets must be kept on a leash (not to exceed six feet) at all times, unless inside your unit. Animals may not be tethered to utility fixtures. Animal waste must be picked up by the pet owner. Dogs may not be left unattended at any time. Due to regulations, dogs are not permitted in the Bathhouse, Office, or Grilling Station. Dogs (only) are allowed in Lodge on leash and must leave if requested by Outpost employee for any reason. Dogs / pets must be always under control for the safety of guests. Owners may be asked to remove aggressive, uncontrolled, or constantly barking dogs from the property at any time. Dogs / pets may be rinsed with water only (no soap) on sites.
SMOKING/VAPING
Absolutely No Smoking, Vaping, Tobacco Use, Etc. inside of any Outpost property. A cleaning fee of $200.00 will be charged to the credit card on file if there is smoking in a rental unit.
THEFT AND LOSS
Campers are responsible for securing their personal property, including, but not limited to, their campers and contents, vehicles, tents, or any other personal property. The campground, its owner, agents, and employees are not responsible or liable for theft or loss of any kind, nor damage caused by acts of God, fires, floods, windstorms, explosions, lightning strikes, accidents, or vandalism. Campers are responsible for maintaining insurance on their campers, vehicles, and personal property.
WASHING RVS AND CARS
RVs and cars may not be washed or rinsed on property. Our staff can direct you to the nearest appropriate facility.
WEAPONS
Possession of weapons such as firearms, knives, chains, etc. while outside of a personal camping vehicle is not permitted on the property.

FIREWOOD
